Gracie's Birth Day!
03/25/10 01:11
I hope you enjoy reading this short excerpt from this
exciting chapter or our story:
Tuesday morning 11 a.m.: Jess shows signs of early labor
Tuesday night 8 p.m.: Jess and I time early labor contractions
Tuesday midnight: We think Jess’ water might have broken
Wednesday morning 9 a.m.: Jess describes early symptoms of labor to her doctor and we are told to go to labor observation at the hospital
Wednesday morning 11:30 a.m.: Doctor confirms that water has broken and admits Jess to labor & delivery
Wednesday noon: Doctor begins to induce labor
Wednesday 1 p.m.: Gracie’s heart rate falls drastically at every contraction, leading our doctor to decide to take her through c-section in order to avoid baby distress
Wednesday 5 p.m.: Jess goes into surgery (I was holding her brave hand) and Gracie Rae is born!
We’ve had so much support, love, encouragement, and answered prayers today that our hearts are overwhelmed! Thanks to our family, friends, & church who have already made Gracie Rae one loved little baby girl!

Gracie Rae in 4D
03/11/10 22:50
Jess is less than 3 weeks away from our due date and man are we fired up about meeting this baby girl! We’ve been talking about her, praying for her, shopping for her, planning for her, and feeling her kick and move for months. Finally, this morning, we saw a glimpse of her when our doctor generously gave us a free 4D view. Not sure where she got those big lips, but she sure looks cute, peaceful, and just about ready to meet the world.

Why we don't read the books we want to read
03/03/10 18:17
There’s a great article here listing the top 10 reasons why we never get around to reading certain books (pretty sure these only pertain to readers, so if you never read, then the reason why you never get to certain books is simply that you never read).
Don’ let any of these reasons keep you from checking out my first book, Jungle Sunrise. Get it here.
Here’s a sample: 1. It's a book I feel like I should read. 2. It's part of a series, and I haven't read the earlier ones, yet. 4. It's intimidatingly enormous.
