Air Jessica
01/28/07 14:04
For those of you who
don't already know, my wife is a basketball star. Not
only did she run the court all through high school,
she got a full ride to Tyler Junior College where she
played for two years. There, they won the NATIONAL
CHAMPIONSHIP and Jessica and her sister were
co-MVP's! After that, she went to SFA and played for
two years, becoming famous all over again.
(click on the pic to read some of her stats)
So yesterday, we drove to UT in Arlington to watch Jess' old team, the SFA Lady Jacks play. Jessica's coach from both TJC and SFA is still their head coach.
So, we got to see an exciting
game that came down to the last second while
visiting with some of Jess' old friends and
coaches and even some life-long fans that still
remember the good ol' days of Jess running the
floor. It was a fun night and then a great date.
I love being married to a former all-star!

Winter Weather Blast
01/17/07 07:35
Growing up in North
Texas, I think that school was cancelled due to snow
or ice maybe 10 times total from Kindergarten through
my senior year in high school. This school year,
however, Jessica's school has already closed twice
(including today), a basketball tournament was
cancelled, and this past Sunday, our church services
were called-off. Why all the cancellations you ask.
Well, it's because there's a Winter Weather Blast
swooping through the North Texas Counties (I've been
watching the weather channel too much).
Since Jess gets to stay home today and my classes don't start until tomorrow, we'll be enjoying a morning by the fire with the blinds open so that we can appreciate the rare view of Texas snow.

The Rockies

We might have had to
drive all night long with no sleep. We might have had
to sit in a 3-hour-long traffic jam with no bathroom
in sight. We might have had to endure hours after
hours of driving through some of the most boring
states in our Country, but it was all worth it to
bring us to the beautiful Rockies.
Snow-covered mountains as our backdrop, last week found Jess and I with Joey & Nicole and Clint & Missy as we skied, tubed, rode snow mobiles, bike-skied, ate fat dinners, watched a one-man play, drank hot chocolate, slid around on a frozen lake, laughed alot, played some games, and just Celebrated Life.
I also found one of the most peaceful places on earth--standing on the slope of a mountain, my ski boots crunching the snow, skiers whipping by me, the cold air turning my cheeks a little red, all the while, feeling as though I was on top of the world. I love being in new places with such inspiring environments. It makes me want to write and travel and live!
